Bilateral Relations

  • Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines established diplomatic relations in January 1984.
  • As of June 2014: There are approximately 22,246 Filipino nationals working in Brunei Darussalam, including their dependents.

Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC)
  • 7 April 2013: The 2nd JCBC at the Senior Officials' level was held in Brunei.
  • The Philippines delegation was led by The Hon. Evan Garcia, Undersecretary for Policy, Department of Foreign Affairs. The Brunei delegation was led by Pengiran Kasmirhan Pengiran Hj Tahir, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Health Cooperation

  • 26 June 2014: MOU on Health Cooperation was signed by Brunei's Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan, and Philippines' Secretary of Health, Enrique T. Ona.
