HIS MAJESTY THE SULTAN AND YANG DI-PERTUAN OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM PRESENTS AND RECEIVES LETTERS OF CREDENCE FOR NEWLY-APPOINTED ENVOYS

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon presented Letter of Credence to Brunei Darussalam's newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and received Letters of Credence from the newly-appointed Envoys to Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty first, presented Letter of Credence to Her Excellency Hajah Johariah binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of the Philippines.

His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from the newly-appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Ouk Chandara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cambodia to Brunei Darussalam; Her Excellency Nicola Rosenblum, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam; and His Excellency Major General (Retired) Tariq Rashid Khan, High Commissioner of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam.

Following the ceremony, His Majesty then received in audience the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam.

Her Excellency Hajah Johariah binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of the Philippines, previously served as Director of ASEAN Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

His Majesty then granted separate audiences to the newly-appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam.

His Excellency Ouk Chandara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cambodia to Brunei Darussalam, previously served as Director of Information and Documentation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cambodia.

Her Excellency Nicola Rosenblum, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, had served as Director of Humanitarian Operations Section, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Major General (Retired) Tariq Rashid Khan, High Commissioner of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, previously held the post of Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production, Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
